Identifying and Supporting Young Carers

Held by Family and Community Services (Ageing, Disability and Home Care) in partnership with staff from the Young Carer Program at Carers NSW. The session will include information about a new e-learning tool and other resources to help staff in identifying and supporting young carers in their work.

The sessions are open to all interested government and non-government service providers who either want to learn about young carers, increase their knowledge about young carers, or who already work with young carers but would like to help develop a collaborative young carer support network in their local area.

This includes (but is not exclusive to) workers who help to support:

• someone with a disability or illness
• family members and carers
• children and young people in schools or youth centres, and
• young carers
